MCRU Re-Locate To New Premises

After 5 years on from our humble beginnings MCRU have re-located to a 1300 sq feet premises still in Huddersfield but with dedicated storage and distibution facilities. Coupled with 2 demonstration rooms for customers to listen to our range of equipment. Loudspeakers, turntables, music servers, amplifiers, mains conditioners, DAC’s, linear power supplies and much more.

We welcome visitors by appointment and have on site demo facilities as well as our cable burn in service and record cleaning using our Clearaudio Double Matrix Sonic RCM. If you only have a small collection of vinyl and don’t want to invest in a record cleaning machine simply drop off your records or courier them to us, we will clean them and put each one in a new anti static inner sleeve included in the price.

As well as our resident Clearaudio Master Innovation turntable fitted with TT2 tangential arm and Stradivari cartridge we support vinyl in many different ways. Longdog Audio produce what we consider some of the best sounding phono amplifiers in existence, their MCj2 j-fet tube stage being a good example of what a good phono stage should sound like.

Whilst we have been lovers of vinyl for over 30 years we have not forgotten to embrace the 21st century technology of computer audio and have a high end streaming system on permanent demo in our listening rooms. We leave it to Lumin Music as their range of music servers are about the best on the market in our opinion. Their entry level D1 model is available to trial or we do home dems if you don’t live locally. The D1 has built in sabre DAC’s, internet radio and handle all known music files with ease including DSD. It takes less than 5 minutes to have it playing music fresh from the box using the Lumin app and an i-pad. The D1 could just be the perfect product for novices and experts alike, £1595 and with sound quality to die for. Lumin also make their own dedicated NAS drive if required.
